HFM EXPRESS

HFM Members: Enter Benchmarking Data.

EXPRESS is the HFM signature-benchmarking program provided to its acute and extended care food service operators as a member service. Corporate sponsors of the program are: Hobart, PepsiCo, and Sysco Corporation. HFM EXPRESS is the premier healthcare food service benchmarking program. The program has the largest database of healthcare food service operations in the United States and also includes Canadian operations. CONFIDENTIALITY GUARANTEED: Each operation's information is completely confidential. Once data is submitted, it is run through a series of screens to verify its integrity.

The EXPRESS benchmarking program portfolio includes:

  • Financial and productivity benchmarking for acute care operations with and without a café
  • Financial and productivity benchmarking for extended care operations
  • Patient satisfaction plus financial and productivity benchmarking for acute care operations with and without a café (this section will be available in January)
  • Resident satisfaction plus financial and productivity benchmarking for extended care operations (this section will be available in January)
  • Café customer satisfaction plus financial and productivity benchmarking for operations with a café (this section will be available in January)

Each operation's data is completely confidential, identified only by a facility number known to HFM Headquarters staff and the member. This ID number is assigned the first time a member participates in one of the financial and productivity programs. EXPRESS is a member service included in annual dues. The facility profile feature of the program allows participants to identify operators with similar geography and operating as well as production and meal delivery characteristics. Worksheets provide an easy way to collect needed data and prepare reports.

HFM has strategic alliances that together provide for the first time in 40 years a national standard for meal counting in Healthcare. Solucient and Cap Gemini Ernst & Young are two of the HFM strategic benchmarking partners. EXPRESS™ sets the standard for health care food service benchmarking.

Solucient drives intelligent business solutions through its benchmarking services for more than 250 different hospital cost centers through its ACTION O-I Program. Cap Gemini Ernst and Young LLP has agreed to use HFM EXPRESS™ benchmarks and methodology it is health care management consulting practice.

EXPRESS™ Data Available

While detailed reports are provided only to EXPRESS™ participants, supplier members (manufacturers, distributors, and consultants) and healthcare executive members can order rollup reports for their use for a modest fee. HFM calls these members "Associates." Go to HFM EXPRESS™ Data Sales.
