Financial and Productivity Benchmarking

General

There are separate programs for acute and extended care operations. To participate, an HFM operator member submits financial and productivity information using the on-line form provided. Calculation assistance is provided through a detailed worksheet and available hot line assistance from HFM Headquarters in New York City.

Members report their information monthly and receive back results within 15 days of the reporting closing date. The data collected covers patient and non-patient meals, resident and non-resident meals, and productivity items such as labor hours.

HFM provides members with a complimentary graphic display program so they can chart their operation(s) against the 25th 50th and 75th percentile results for their peers in the same bed size category. Participants also receive six and 12 month cumulative reports.

An operations profile is also provided allowing members to look up another operation and determine operational characteristics compared to their own. HFM provides members with a contact point to network with peers about results. For further information contact HFM at hfm@hfm.org.
