Bringing the World to Our Shelves: Holy Family Awarded Diverse Book Collection

At Holy Family Ministries, we believe that every child should be able to open a book and see a reflection of themselves, and a window into the lives of others. In December, our library and classrooms got a whole lot brighter thanks to a generous award from Joy for Books!

Through the Joy for Books program, Holy Family was gifted a curated collection of high-quality, culturally diverse children’s books. These stories feature BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) characters and authors, ensuring that our scholars have access to literature that honors their heritage and celebrates the richness of our global community.

“Joy for Books is a champion for inclusive literacy,” says Head of Schools, Deana Spencer. “By providing these books, they are helping us foster a love for reading that is deeply personal and affirming for our students.”

From tales of neighborhood heroes to adventures across the globe, these new additions will be integrated into our library and Little Learners programs. We are incredibly grateful to Joy for Books for helping us empower our students to see their own potential in the pages of a book.
