The Peace Exchange Program was recognized on two fronts this April: exceptional community partnership and trailblazing leadership.
DePaul University Steans Center honored The Peace Exchange with their Outstanding Community Partner Award for the collaborative work being done with TPE internship program. Each quarter, The Peace Exchange welcomes several interns to put their learning into practice at Holy Family and partner schools through restorative justice programming. Interns learn the ins-and-outs of youth focused conflict resolution and community building, while contributing the richness of their own perspectives. The Steans Center has been an indispensable partner in making The Peace Exchange work possible, making this recognition especially meaningful.
The Peace Exchange Program Manager Henry Cervantes also received the honor of being nominated by partner organization Public Allies to represent Chicago at the Courageous Leadership Conference taking place in Atlanta May 13th - 15th. The conference serves as a "convening of approximately 200 senior leaders—including influencers and decision-makers in policy, advocacy, and elected leadership. The conference centers sustainability, meaningful connection, and skill development." We wish Henry a rewarding experience while he represents Chicago and Holy Family on this national stage!
Together, these honors reflect the growing impact of The Peace Exchange and its commitment to building more peaceful and unified communities in Chicago and beyond.
